I know the Cubs have brought in all these candidates to interview, but have any of them outside of Ross, Espada and Girardi been given a fair shot. The Cubs have been grooming Ross for this position the past two seasons, that leads me to believe he is favorite. Girardi might be the right fit, but with the game changing as much as it has and his old school approach, I dont think that meshes well for hitters who havent adjusted much themselves. The wildcard is Espada. Yes he is a bench coach in Houston which is the high standard among franchises right now, but do the Cubs want to wait another two or three weeks to make their choice.
